I dont usually comment on this guy .. just watch with utter bewilderment.
He's doing 'Full Restoration' now...it was only a matter of time before he moved on from 'fixing the nut fret' to start on the frets themselves.......apparently spending hours 'easing the frets' ...its just plain scarey !
Have a read of this .......

I particularly like the " white felt bushes that I get from Holland," I reckon that's what he's been smoking  :D

Mmmmmm... that resonant plywood, low quality hardware... he should add "t*rd polisher" to his many self appointed titles.

Are you not aware that all the finest examples of white felt come from Holland.

His descriptions are becoming more and more entertaining and ridiculous with each listing. Was going to say long may it continue but problem is, some poor sap eats up the bullshit and shells out their hard earnt dosh.

I see he's come up with a new unit of measurement after his "micro wotsit" was derided by all:

to move all the strings "an even gnat's cock" towards the center.

They'd be the ones with an inch thick coating of dust in the back storerooms of every Cash Converters.

Old bearded guy ( clutching a dodgy guitar) goes into a 2nd hand bookshop..."Do you have Guitar Restoration by Mark D Phillips"?

Bookshop owner hands him a hacksaw, some Beeswax and a sack of cow dung.

£227? Hahaha
Too right! The £75 he paid for it in the first place was enough of a rip off, a dodgy satellite should only be worth around £50 to any guitarist in possession of all their marbles. And for £227 he could at least have stuck some working tuners on it, you can get a set of Grovers for £25 these days. Madness.

I've just checked his seller ratings on ebay, looks like there are a lot of poor saps who love his work! One even says you won't find a better guitar restorer on ebay

Hmmmm is it just me or are his descriptions becoming a bit 'intentional'? He seems to be doing it deliberatly these days. The senserity has gone. The nieve artistry isnt there any more. Its all a bit forced. A bit like that tricky second album. I prefer his earlier works. I know all great artists never stay still but is he going down the right track? Perhaps he needs to take a break. Go to Tibet or a small cottage in North Wales to get his vibe back. It would be a shame if he burnt out so early. But then again alot of the 'Greats' seem to do that. Once they are discovered the flame burns too bright and they vanish into the anals of history.

Come on MDP get back to your roots man. Rediscover why your doing all this great work. Dont play to the gallery play from your heart.
