throwoff Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 When the world ends and all the Fenders and Musicmans are gone. Rickenbackers are but burnt shadows on the ruined stages of old theatres. Gibson is just a word and Lakland is a legendary place where no man has trod. The few surviving bass players will hike across the land and sail the brown polluted seas to find M Fillips. And to buy one of his legendary instruments.

Not bad, he's on to a winner financially speaking. Tragic loss of an instrument though.

For no man has ever actually seen or heard one of his creations. They live in hope. Thier only guide is the distant mesmarising sound of Master Nigel Clutterbuck who, under his spell is doomed to play slap from the highest peak for all iternity. When the world ended MDP took him under his wing to act as his Siren. To lure those devotees to his mountain layer......................... A
MB1 Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 MB1. Why turn a seven string into a six string? The reason it has a slightly wider neck is it has a seventh string!. Now it has a hole at the top of the headstock and a butchered nut and bridge. All to accommodate the hand size of a construction worker? Totally Nonsensical... Like turning your Grand piano into a garden shed?
Johngh Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012
I see he's come up with a new unit of measurement after his "micro wotsit" was derided by all: to move all the strings "an even gnat's cock" towards the center.
Great, I can use that. We make precision parts for Rolls Royce. next time they ask me what I used to measure the parts, I'll tell them "an even gnats cock" Should imagine they will be well impressed

I wonder how much a seven string Jackson is new, the only reverse headstock hardtail Jackson I can see is the JS32RT which retails from GAK for £226. Edited November 9, 2012 by Si600

He's the opposite of the scammers who pass off cheapo copies as expensive instruments, or sell off anonymous crap they found in their gran's attic. At least he describes what he instrument is and was, and what he's done to it - and we get a good laugh out of it, rather than a feeling of righteous indignation.
