chris_b
Probably means that Mr Winwood is playing pedals on his Hammond. He's been doing that a lot lately.
R,5,R,5...
Wouldn't surprise me either. I saw him on Austin city limits a few years ago and he played half of Mr Fantasy on Hammond, then let rip on his strat. Singing all the while. What a talent. mgauction
He's been playing live without a bass player for years. Saw him in San Diego on tour about 7 or 8 years ago and noticed he played all the parts on his organ pedals. Saw him for the first time in 1970 on the John Barleycorn Tour with both originals that are now deceased. He also sat behind me at the final gig for the Cream Reunion. I was shocked! He may have just been the protective older brother to a teenager.
Ray
Ha! I was relegated to playing the cowbell on one track on our new LP because our Hammond player wanted to play pedal bass on it. He did ask very nicely though and I have to say it sounds great! I've actually been listening to a lot of records with organ bass lately - old Prestige and Blue Note Hammondy stuff. Very nice.....
