Just read a review of his new album Nine Lives (by a guitar player) and he says there's no bass guitar on the album. wether that means an upright bass i dont know. i'll investigare thurther. he's a track

He's been playing live without a bass player for years. Saw him in San Diego on tour about 7 or 8 years ago and noticed he played all the parts on his organ pedals. Saw him for the first time in 1970 on the John Barleycorn Tour with both originals that are now deceased. He also sat behind me at the final gig for the Cream Reunion. I was shocked!

Ha! I was relegated to playing the cowbell on one track on our new LP because our Hammond player wanted to play pedal bass on it. He did ask very nicely though and I have to say it sounds great!

I've actually been listening to a lot of records with organ bass lately - old Prestige and Blue Note Hammondy stuff. Very nice.....
