martthebass Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 (edited) This is a heavily modded Squier precision. It started life as a Squier Precision Afinity but the following mods have been made: BBOT bridge changed for high mass (BBOT will be included should you wish) Original neck changed for a maple board Mighty Mite with vintage tint. 70s Fender logo. Wilkinson tuners added Pots and wiring gubbins changed to good quality stuff (orange drop cap, CTS etc) Pickups upgraded to Wizard Thumpers Pick guard changed from horrible white one ply to Bass Doc 3 ply torty. Trade wise, looking for a nice Jazz for cash.....looking at a trade value of £200. This really is a nice Precision, a few dings but nothing major or through the paint and certainly looks the part......it's just that I have to admit that the Precision sound just doesn't work for me. I'll post some pics as soon as I can get to the laptop. Edited February 16, 2013 by martthebass
Truckstop Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 What colour is it? Do you have the ability to send photos to my email address? Cheers Alex
martthebass Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Resurrected thread. I've upgraded the pups to Thumpers but still can't get to love the Precision sound, guess I'm just a jazz man at heart and I'd like a nice less expensive one compared to my AVRI to use at rough pubs/jam nights.
dannybuoy Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 We still don't know what colour it is! Pics would help!
martthebass Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Will sort pics later, but there is only one colour combo for a P bass......black/maple ;-)
marcus bell Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Great looking bass, bet it sounds great too! Good luck with the sale dude
martthebass Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Cheers Marcus, enjoyed doing all the mods etc, just a shame that its not my sound. If you're into the P bass vibe though its spot on!
martthebass Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 Oh, forgot to add, I'm prepared to put in some cash for the right bass.......but not looking for a MIA just a decent backup.
martthebass Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Pms replied to. Would consider trade offers of other basses of a two pickup jazz type variety :-)
Lee Carter Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Take a look at the Jazz in my sig, open to a possible trade with cash. I never use the Jazz, seems a shame for it to be sitting in a case.
martthebass Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 You never know, pm me what you were thinking.
lobematt Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) Fancy a trade for a 5 string jazz? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/198543-unidentified-jazz-bass-for-sale-narrow-5-string-l150-ono-low-price/page__fromsearch__1 Edited February 6, 2013 by lobematt
martthebass Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Thanks for the offer, but as I've found to my cost (on no less than 5 separate occasions) I don't get on with 5s. The only 5er that could possibly tempt me to have another go would be a Streamline but I don't have £1700 going spare....
martthebass Posted February 14, 2013 Author Posted February 14, 2013 Try for another bump. I've had a few requests for a 'sale' price. Undecided on this option as yet because I think it's probably better to part out than sell whole.
martthebass Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 Still looking for a Squier CV jazz or similar......happy to add some cash into the deal :-)
