What does a Bass Player look like ?

I had a nice compliment last night. A while back I depped with a friends band and saw her dad (guitarist in the band) in the pub and as usual he was very complimentary of my playing which was nice but the cracker came when he said the keyboard players first words to him on first meeting me were " he's a big man, he will be a proper bass player!"
Now I ain't Nate Watts but if being a big man makes me a proper bass player I'm there!
