baseline9
Hello - My fender Standard Jazz prob needs a bit of TLC in the electronics dept, just the pots cleaning up and the jack insert a clean (This is the main issue, moving the jack lead around means the sound cracks etc.. this is with mutiple leads). I just wondered if anyone had any advice, I know you can buy a spray to clean pots or Jack insert etc? If the issues persist then I will go to a pro. Many thanks! Base. Mr. Foxen
Servisol is the spray for pots, cotton bud and some methylated spirits for the jack, full on cracking can be bad connection or shorting against something, which is more of a soldering job. baseline9
Many thanks, just purchased some electronic contact cleaner, it was UNIPART but checked and it says "for instruments" , should be able to get some methylated spirits easy enough. Yeah am going to do some "light" maintenance, anything more required then I know a local luthier I can take it too. He recently replaced a jack from me on my EB Music Man, he said they are known to be a bit crap! Many thanks!
