I've dipped in and out of Zappa over the years, i don't why i've not listened more because i really like it.

Same here, and I don't know either. Long periods with loads of Zappa inbetween longer periods with nothing (except the incidental iPod random track)
Who knows, it may be in the human genome already. Or maybe it has to do with the loads of uninteresting tracks.

It's an enigma wrapped up in a mystery :)

Here's the whole programme that nige originally linked to:

Easier to watch in one chunk, and slightly higher quality too.

... I still occasionally wonder what Frank Zappa would make of all kind of things nowadays....

You know. Many news items on subjects involving politics, religion and sexual hypocrisy I think of Uncle Frank, bless him. Wonder what he'd have made of x factor and Chris Brown...

Good stuff. Just checked out the 1 and 3 as couldn't find 2.

Someone had issues with a song used in 2, so it was edited and retitled:

I like to think that Frank would have enjoyed hearing someone called Lord Sausage saying 'I've dipped in and out of Zappa over the years' :D

When I finally behave for once, you just had to show that you're really the successpr Discreet could wish for! :)

Must be extremely rare indeed, if at all possible.

I have my doubts, but of course do not know. Someone in Holland claimed to have most, not all, in the seventies and he had like 1500 units already back then. Roughly 35 years have passed since that, and, besides live recordings, if one just starts to imagine how many recordings were made with the Synclavier ...

I know 2 people who think they own everything and I really do mean everything recorded by Zappa. What are the odds of that?

What? All the stuff in the Zappa archives that hasn't even been released? The odds are nil.

I first saw a Zappa archive in 1988, belonging to Wayne McCann. It was on 3 walls, mostly records, VHS, tapes, books, magazines with interviews, this was in a terraced house in Birkenhead. The next was 2 years ago, and this was by someone who wishes to remain quiet. It was a total labirynth.
