Owencf
Morning fellow Bassists of all shapes and sizes, Ive just taken the plunge and brought a EUB after not picking up an instrument for 10 years Ive noted that Aberdeen isnt the best place to buy or learn DB or EUB. So im looking for an instructional book for a novice and anyone around Aberdeen city who plays Blues or rockabilly styles who has time to impart some wisdom Cheers Owencf
AttitudeCastle
Welcome to the forum from a fellow Aberdonian. Not the most musical city in the world but it's all here! I'll keep my ear to the ground, I don't know any off the top of my head but may be able to get in contact with a few people around the city who could help. All the best! Owencf
Just got my EUB from the delivery depot.......got it home and found that the headstock had sheared off between headstock and fingerboard Now to the next challenge and finding a DB or EuB for sale around aberdeen or through a more reputable retailer, unless someone has a semi decent one going for under £500 Edited November 6, 2012 by Owencf
FLoydElgar
You're best bet is a rental - for a few months... contact local council see what their music department has to offer. All the best in your musical endeavors...
Acebassmusic
Hi and welcome to the forum Not sure how much I can help you but I used to play a 3/4 upright with a rockabilly band many moons ago. It took me ages to work out how to do slap style and get "that sound" (before 'tinternet and youtube etc). I live just south of Aberdeen and could (try) and show you the very little I know / remember. 3 freinds of mine play the EUB and are all based in Aberdeen. They may be able to help you out as well. PM me your number and I'll get in touch. Mike
paulpirie8
One of the guys who works in Imported Instruments (the new music shop in the Academy) plays EUB in his band. Spoke to him at length a few times about bass and he really seems to know his stuff. He also has a beard... Paul
