Hi

I've been trying to track down 'What Duck Dunn' as I'm enjoying playing his stuff.

Anyone know where I can get a copy (it seems to be out of print according to the Bass is Bodacious site)?

Or are there any other good books for learning more stax/motown that you can recommend? I'm in SE London if that helps.

Cheers,

UV

Hi mate

yep, I thought so too. I ordered from the site but then had a refund saying the book is out of print - they are about to launch a new version.

in the meantime, any other ideas? Fancy scanning your copy in for me so I can practice while I'm waiting? :)

cheers,

For Jamerson's Motown stuff - there's the "Standing In the Shaodows of Motown" book and CD - it's a great introduction to Jamerson's genius.

But the best way to learn is by ear, trying to copy your favourite stuff. I've not tried one but those "Bass Trainer" CD thingies look good to help with that.
