Hi! A little while ago I got myself a Aguilar DB751amp in a tradedeal and I have a question about this amp.Maybe there is someone out there who can give me some feedback!
I use my DB751 with a Hevos Powerset cab combination. This combination (2x10 @ 8 Ohm + 1x15@ 8 Ohm) can take more than 1000 real Watts at 4 Ohm. I play old Fender Precision basses.
My input gain is set about "11h55" to get a clean smooth warm and "not disturbed" sound. This sounds really great! Everything is very fine as long as the volume knob is set 'lower than' or on the 12 o clock position. Now when I am increasing the volume and turn the volume knob over halfway, I mean over the "12 o'Clock" position my sound is being very transformed, distorted... all the deep tones disapeares... It just doesn't sound deep, warm and clean anymore. I've tryed to lower the input gain but this doesn't help. As soon as the volume goes more than halfway (12 o'clock position) the sound is transforming very much! Is there anyone else who is expieriencing this? Is this normal or is there something wrong with my amp, tubes, or is it my cabs...

Here is a link to my cab combination :

Sounds like you are hitting the maximum excursion limits of the cabs.

+1. Too much amp, too little speaker.

So you think if I use for exemple two powerfull 4x10 cabs this problem will Disapear?
On paper it says that my cabs can handle a 1000 Watts and my amp gives normaly a max of 750W @ 4 Ohm.... but indeed thats only what the manual says
