Hey guys

Recently bought this wicked Tobias 5 string bass off another forum member for £100 (absolute bargain) but the finish had been completely stripped and its a bit rough in places so I'm going to do a light sand to clean it up then give it a new finish.

Originally, I was going to spray it white but the wood is too nice to cover up so I need your advice on what to use to bring out the nice grain then give it a protective coat. I believe it's a maple body but I'm not 100% sure, it does look a lot like the maple I've seen on the wings of other basses by Tobias.

Anyway, the electronics are a mess so I'm swapping the pre amp out for an EMG BQC system. List of things I'm going to be adding to it:

- EMG BQC 18v pre amp system (just installed it)
- Leo Quan Badass V (black, on order from Owen)
- Hipshot GB7 drop tuner on B string (black)
- Schaller strap locks (black)
- Tele style knurled flat top knobs (black)
- Seymour Duncan SJB5-3 quarter pound bassline pick ups (not decided, if not then below)
- EMG active jazz 5 pick ups

Here's a picture of the bass as it is now:

Cheers
Stevie
