alstocko Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 No treble have this covered better than I can. http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2012/11/04/la-bella-strings-launches-first-bass-guitar-the-olinto/ Basically it's a super vintage P... Quote
wateroftyne Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I don't think they'll be expecting to shift many. Quote
Happy Jack Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 That sort-of reminds me of a Precision ... Quote
Jack Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) It's nice to see a company doing something different. I've wanted a bass like that one for a while but I just don't like Fender. Now that another company with such a long pedigree of instrument manufacturing is making a similar bass at such a low price point I'm sure they get lots of business. wateroftyne Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Ah.. It's not often I'm caught out like that. Nice delivery, Jack - you got me hook, line and sinker. :-D Quote
Sibob Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Wow.......... .......that's a crap headstock! Si Quote
philw Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Really, how is it possible to display so little imagination? I truly am tempted to thud my head on the desk in frustration. Please, nobody buy one! P Quote
charic Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Their logo looks terrible like on a headstock Quote
charic Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Although from the same size this may actually be worse Quote
mcnach Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 oh, another one like a million before it, goody! Quote
molan Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I saw this on No Treble and genuinely thought it was an April Fool! They sometimes republish stuff or it gets moved back up the site because of an update etc. Quote

WHUFC BASS Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Really can't see the point of this bass. The headstock reminds me of a cross between the new SX range and the only Peavey headstocks. For that money I'd want something a bit special, not some re-hashed Fender copy with a moody headstock. Quote
Dingus Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Maybe it's intended as some kind of revenge- if bass makers keep selling their own brand strings the La Bella want to turn the tables by making basses. Quote
Ben Jamin Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I'm sure it's a great P bass though. Like all the other ones. Quote
Nico@Bass Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) Another Fender copy... Sure it's a great sounding / playing bass but there are so many of them! Edited November 5, 2012 by Nico@Bass Quote
uncle psychosis Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Sometimes I wonder if companies in the music business actually know *anything* about their customers. For £3k, if I wanted a vintage Precision bass, I could get a real vintage Fender or even get a Fender custom shop and probably have some change. WTF is the point in this? Quote
StephenFerguson Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) I like my P Bass, its by Fender? although it was a third of the price so its probs sh*te. Edited November 5, 2012 by StephenFerguson Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Yep my first bass was a Peavey Foundation with that headstock shape. Boring boring boring but plenty of people buy these boring basses, many of them play and sound great but they are still boring. Quote
