LeftyJ Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Wow, that worked out very nice. Is that an SR1000E? Quote
xgsjx Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Cheers guys. It is indeed an SR1000E. You know your Ibbys! I'd like to get a hold of another neck (or a 5 string Ibby bass) & make one a fretless sometime, but that may be a few yonks away. Quote

wombatboter Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Always been a huge fan of those old Ibanez Musicians (from the time Adam Clayton and Sting used them) so recently got one of these... Around here in Belgium you can get these for around 300-400 euros (got mine for 300 ) and they just blow me away.. Believe me or not but I used to have an expensive Alembic Mark King and this cheap Ibanez reminds me of it everytime I pick it up... A wide range of sounds and the neck is a joy to play... it's one of the best basses I've ever had. bjelkeman Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Just added a Musician MC924 to the collection. It was Polar White originally, but has gone more Cream since it was made in 1985. Not exactly in perfect nick, but ok from a distance. Actually it feels and looks more like a Roadstar of the same time, I have an RB-960, than a Musician. wombatboter Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Just got this white Musician 924 for around 350 euros... after cleaning it up and setting the neck straight it turned out to be an amazing bass. I always wanted to have one of these after seeing "Mirror Man" by the Human League.. ezbass Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 So much 80s loveliness being posted here recently, really takes me back. Quote
bjelkeman Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 The SR305 has been replaced by an RB760, oh and the Teisco snuck in there too. But otherwise it is an happy Ibanez family. Quote

wombatboter Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Most of the time I just look at tweedehands.be (which means secondhand) and from time to time one comes along.. To be honest I don't get the prices they ask around here in the FS-section on bass.chat. 3 to 400 euros is rather common around here... But sometimes you just need to be patient. Quote
Jono Bolton Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 The Ibanez fans must be the guys to ask, what's the going rate for a Blazer just now? I've been thinking of getting one for a while now. Quote
Cat Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I only got this beauty earlier this week and I've managed to wipe enough drool off it to take a picture. Apologies for the rubbish camera. Doesn't do the Silver Sparkle finish any favours, but you get the idea. This was old/new stock - new bass, 2010 stock - which I picked up, with a pro set up, for £180. The razor thin neck and body, the impossibly low action and the frankly gorgeous sound from the stock pups has now spoiled me for other basses. I am an Ibanez convert. Quote
Evil Undead Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Just want to show off my Ibanez basses. They're my only basses at the moment (and for the foreseeable future), and I love them to bits. The white one is an SR300 that I picked up on ebay for £99.99. I've strung it up in drop B for my new band, and it plays great. And the natural one is an SR600 - probably one of the best basses I've ever owned, seriously low action (about 1mm) with only the slightest bit of buzz on the G if I play too hard. Helpful for my technique, haha, but in all reality it's probably a fret that's a fraction too high. Evil Undead Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 P.S. Cat - now I want a silver sparkle one. Thanks for that. Quote
Woodinblack Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I accidentally bid on a SR505 on tuesday on ebay, you know, just another tenner over what it was on already, that won't make much difference.. err.. ok, so it turned up today A thing of beauty, goes with my SR1000EWM. So does anyone know if there is a fretless 5 string in the series, apart from those ones with a single pickup and whatever that large panel above it is. Quote

Satrugar Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Nice thread! Some really lovely basses, but for me there's not enough shiny prestige-stuff in here yet. I guess I have to help out a bit....here is my SR7005MP: Quote
Woodinblack Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I love the dull metal on those! I think I need to add some pictures.. Quote
