GarethFlatlands
Heavier music never sounded too good on Jools when I used to watch it, which is a shame as it was often one of the few places you could see it on terrestrial TV way back when. mcnach
Just watched both bands. One was a band and the other was a bland.
funny, that's just what I said... I was going to watch something with my gf when we noticed Soundgarden on JH's. We watched that. Ok. I was not in love but I quite enjoyed it. Then the other guy/band/bland came in... and she looked at me like "can we watch something else now?". "Bland" was the adjective we used to describe them too. It sounded like... another hundred similar "bands", same voice, same sound, same lyrics... totally uninspiring.
AnalogBomb
I like the sound of the P-Bass, but don't like the look. This, rightly or wrongly, tarnishes my otherwise unconditional affection for them.
Rayman
Just watched it.....couldn't hear the bass at all, so couldn't pass judgement on the tone......and I was surprised to see Jet Black from The Stranglers moonlighting in another band. artisan
I like me some P (check my sig) but that didn't do it for me, a typical Later mix devoid of anything musically discernible in the low end I thought . I was about to dismiss it as that until the next act, Trey Songz, came on. Now that was a bass tone that made my ears prick up, really nice. YMMV. I think it was an MTD through a GK rig. Now this brings into question whether Soundgarden were badly mixed or whether it was just a poor tonal choice by them to start with?
indeed it was an MTD 535,very very nice indeed & i agree it sounded fantastic, nicely played too, didn't like the song/band though but IMO Soundgarden were total crap
GarethFlatlands
Watching it now, they still sound pretty good but damn they look old.

On topic, love the look and feel of Ps but never found the core tone something that suits
lozbass
To answer my own question, Nate Jones apparently, a man with some pedigree
Roger Evans
P-bass player here! Can't fault them. Horses for courses and all that but I doubt I'll ever switch away from them.
