Sound advice/recommendations/thoughts amp/effects wise

Hi all,

I'm hoping to try and recreate (for a laugh until I find a practical reason to use it) the kind of 8 bit/16 bit retro computer game soundtrack sound. Was thinking maybe synth or something, but not overly sure.

Any thoughts?

Good shout phil.i.stein, I like it, just can't seem to find one now :-( don't suppose you still have yours and are willing to let it go?

sorry, i let mine go to a fellow BC'er as i needed the cash, but do regret it.

the only warning i have is that it has a MASSIVE gain, and can be hard to control in a live environment.

One of those after a Boss OC-2 would give some very interesting sounds. Not authentic SID chip stuff by any means but a similar vibe. A bit of reverb afterwards helps too.
