Jimryan
Hi all, I'm hoping to try and recreate (for a laugh until I find a practical reason to use it) the kind of 8 bit/16 bit retro computer game soundtrack sound. Was thinking maybe synth or something, but not overly sure. Any thoughts? James

chrismuzz
Bit crusher? Ring mod? Synth? Fuzz? They can all be found on a Zoom B3 which you'll pay no more than £150 for!
sorry, i let mine go to a fellow BC'er as i needed the cash, but do regret it. the only warning i have is that it has a MASSIVE gain, and can be hard to control in a live environment.
One of those after a Boss OC-2 would give some very interesting sounds. Not authentic SID chip stuff by any means but a similar vibe. A bit of reverb afterwards helps too.
