yeah, so i recently started doing a few covers on youtube, to pass the time of day really. Don't be too harsh, i know there is nothing great about them, and they even include a few mistakes here and there (oh noes!) (about to embed media. I have doubts in my ability in this)

anyway, check it out! look at my lovely refin LPB jazzer!

Thanks for looking. Anybody want to suggest a song for me to cover?

yeah, a mate of mine just pointed out that they can't be viewed on mobile devices >:(

The songs are The Adventures o Rain Dance Maggie by Red Hot Chili Peppers (thanks you shift key, take a break now) and Somebody That I Used To Know, by Gotye.

although for raindance maggie, i was on some fairly strong painkillers, and still in pain. and angry because iMovie f***ed up all my earlier mad-man ramblings about the importance of a good lead!

Good evening, Milty...

'Dark Star' (Grateful Dead, 'Live Dead' album...).

Sorry; entirely tongue in cheek; you're doing much, much better than I was at your age (and pretty much as well as me even now..!). Keep it up lad, and keep the smile, especially... :)
(...but you might like to at least give the track a listen..? B))

They work on my iPad! The RHCP song is good. The Goyte track suffers from a lot of clicking (the string against the pickup? Neck?) that always annoyed me with my Jazz, and a bit of string buzz. Otherwise some nice playing!

you actually only hear that because the amp was so quite. I have to use the built in mic in my mac atm, and it can't handle much. thankfully i had the sound sorted a bit better for the RHCP tune.

very well done, takes some front to post a video. PS nice bass colour combo....just needs a mirror pickguard!?!

my suggestion, get a bit of funk and disco into ya life....can't beat Le Freak as a taster!

this guys does a good lesson.

thanks, i was actually thinking about a black or black crush pearl pickguard. not mirrored though- eugh :( :P

I love disco and funk basslines. I find that the songs i like have really clean tight grooves! that's why i like RHCP so much, they have a tight groove with intensity and complexity. Yo guys, you can subscribe to me and see more videos in future. and check out my channel too, there are a couple more embarrasing vids up there :P including quite an old one of me and my mates jamming, and breaking a door...

He has poor picking technique IMO the point where it makes me uncomfortable to watch it. If your going to put yourself out there as an example for others to follow then you should (again IMO) be doing better than this.
Id feel much happier knowing any impressionable newbies were watching say Scott Devines vids rather than this.

There's also this. i actually hadn't intended that to be a cover for youtube, i was just testing to see how well my mac picked up the sound. and it turned out not bad, so i uploaded it.

RATM's Killing in the name of.
Easy, but lots of fun! :)

would love to, but my recording technique can't really handle something like that right now, maybe in a few weeks. I've just finished recording a cover of Run by snow patrol. Don't get your hopes up people!
