i don't know who Scott is...

YAY!

Check out the "theory and technique" forum on this site. Scott posts under the id "devinebass", his vid lessons are (IMO) the best on the net.

would love to, but my recording technique can't really handle something like that right now, maybe in a few weeks.

 what problem do you have with your recording technique? It sounded fine to me.

I'm basically just playing through my very very crappy practice amp, and letting the little mic in my mac pick up the sound. it's ok, but it isn't great, plus it picks up a lot of room sound, and it can't handle much in terms of volume, and really does distort badly at high volume. that is my main problem. For some reason, when i play the A on my E string, it hardly picks it up... sounds like i"m hardly playing... then i go down to the G and it is loud as heck! oh well... i'll just have to make do for now. should have a sound card arriving in the next few days anyway.

nah, I can't upload this cover. it sounds just awful! bad guitar ability+bad sound quality= ear poison!

I've cleaned it up a little. it doesn't sound too bad with the track over it.

(I thought I posted in this thread already. Curious.)

I agree with iconic, you've got bigger balls than me :D

(The Hohner neck off your LPB jazz is now on a Kay or Avon Rose P body, and very nice it is too - cheers :)

It's the RHCP track, redone! This one has pretty good sound quality, and better playing from me. What do you think?

It isn't a cover, but it is a video of me talking about covers.

It's funny too, i'm told :)

Suggestions, Milty..? OK, here's another...

...from one of the greatest bass players (imho, of course...). The whole album has great stuff on it, but this intro is tops (drumming, too...).

Enjoy.

(Dark Star..? Didn't appreciate it..? Blehh..? A bit 'special' perhaps, but top-notch bass playing, just the same...)

Cheers for the suggestion, but i'm trying to go more along the route of classics and popular songs. I might still include it though. I'm not just looking for songs that are heavy on the bass.

Hey Milty. Try this - it's fun! :)

Cheers for the suggestion Paul, it does sound like a bundle of fun that riff, but again, looking to play something that is more recognisable to the public rather than just really good for bass. I also cannot for the life of me figure out how i would even begin to play a fill in the riff. IT'S SO FAST!

hey, i covered a song earlier, and also talked a bit. there's also a secret special song that i play, just a little (poorly played) part, and you guys have to guess that song. GREAT! :)

So here it is :)

Enjoy

For those wondering, i shall be doing more bass related stuff in future. Covers, product reviews, maybe even a couple other things along with that. and of course, some other funny events. Please subscribe, and i will try my best to put a smile on your face, or make you think deeply about the origins of life. But probably smile... it might be slightly easier to make you smile :)
