Some people hate relicing, but I wanted a fretted P 5 string that wouldn't look out of place next to my 1970 fretless P.

9.5lbs on German P bass love.

Fixed ;-)

Its nice to see dots on a Sandberg neck. I think they look boring without. Is this a standard feature on this bass or a custom option? I know you can request fret markers/blocks etc but you dont see many about with them.

Hiya Dave!

Its not that expensive to ask them for it.

I think almost all Sandbergs are custom orders, so to speak, as in a dealer or customer specs it, they build it, bit like Musicman.

The recent prices I've seen from Synergy (Alan) are pretty damn good.

I agree the new knobs look pretty cool.

Nice bass!

How close to a P bass is it? In passive w/ the tone control?

Hi Gareth.

I think for me a Supreme would be ideal. IIR these have blocks and binding on the neck. They look fantastic. Last time i checked there was an extra £150 for that feature, but its definitely one i would go for.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Custom, adds a bit to the price but not a lot in context of a new bass

Early days yet. I'm taking it to rehearsal tonight so will be able to report back later.

Very nice! You must be very pleased with it!

Can't wait to get my hands on my new Sandberg........

Dots and blocks are "standard" options, but a chargeable option nevertheless. If you wanted some sort of unusual inlays, that would be a proper custom option. Anything is possible, it just depends how deep your pockets are!

First rehearsal tonight and I must say it sounded terrific.

I tried lots of different settings through the evening, to really put it through its paces, and it was great. Run passive with the neck pickup solo and it did authentic P bass, dial in a bit of J for extra bite, and then kick in the actives for real top end slice and bass punch. The neck's really nice too - flat fingerboard and a nice flattened D shape profile. I don't like the Sandberg strings much, but I'll be putting Lakland flats on soon anyway....

The band all thought it was an incredible aged finish, which it is, and were really impressed with the tone. B)

Unbearably sexy!

My one gripe with super-p's is that 4 knobs is just too many! What's wrong with stacked controls to tidy it up a little?

Gorgeous though. Very jealous!

Truckstop
