JPS Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I have got a few songs I'm trying to learn by Friday for an audition one of which is Southern Freeze by Freeze. Just wondered if anyone knew of a decent transcription? Great line and only seems to have 2 main parts, I could just do with a few shortcuts. I am going to sit down now and try to work it out but any help/pointers much appreciated. Cheers. Quote
JPS Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 Don't worry guys (not that you were obviously) I have managed to work it out pretty quickly. Fun to play, just got to work on playing it with a bit of "feel" now! Quote
v8bass Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Great tune ... Sounds like a band that any bassist would love to play in so Good Luck ... No Tab Im afraid but its all about the groove and feel .. ( just listened back to it after 30 years ) the slap is all front pickup and the verse all back pickup .. .. great driving tone too .. so crank that amp a bit Just Lock in with the drummer ... Hope all goes well Gary v8 Quote
ziggydolphinboy Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 its mainly about the first push in the verse riff (tight back pick up sound) then the slap riff which is slightly different for each chord and wacth out for the timing when the slap finisehes (think thats a push too). Quote
JPS Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 Thanks guys, it has got a few subleties that I need to work on. I need to spend a bit of time just listening and soaking it up as well. Quote

[/quote] Just been noodling around with this tune...and it's... thread resureaction time....what does to 'push' refer to? Is it the sort (to me) 'of off' timing the verse has? cheers PS a little lesson that helped me.
