TJAS92 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 What type of jazz bass is that it was like all rosewood?! Anyone able to she'd some light on it? Quote
deanovw Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) Was it walnut rather than rosewood? Edited November 13, 2012 by deanovw Quote
dlloyd Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 They're not overly common... CIJ walnut Jazz. They came in both gloss and satin finishes, the satin version appears to be rarer. This is mine: I've never quite gotten round to take photos of it, so that's Basschat member Starless' floor, who imported it from Japan. Quote
dlloyd Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 It's essentially a non-export 62 reissue with a fancy finish. I've toyed with the idea of putting black ashtrays on it, but I'd want F stamped bridge tray... which you can't get. Mmm... Chocolate. Quote
Musicman20 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 It could be a new American Standard in a walnut finish that I've seen in Soundslive. Quite an impressive look, but not my thing. Think they are about £1050 if you haggle. Quote
Roland Rock Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) Possibly a Fender Victor Bailey sig Jazz? The body is mahogany, a layer of rosewood and koa top. Shame about the gold hardware :-( http://www.gak.co.uk/en/fender-victor-bailey-jazz-bass-fretless-natural/55214?gclid=CL2HqNyazrMCFcrItAodFAsAUQ Edit, ignore me, I didn't read the op properly and haven't even seen the Jools show! TJAS92 Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 God damn they're beautiful and must've been but couldn't quite see bad lighting on jools part Quote
