Not tried the MT-2, but the MD-2 is actually pretty solid on bass.

mt-2 was one of the first distortions i ever had! pretty gnarly

The MT-2 I use with an LS-2 to blend in a dry bass signal. It's a great pedal! Yes, pretty gnarly at times. I've not tried the Mega Distortion though.
