backwater
Hi Folks, I just bought a 1978 Precision from Volume here on Basschat and one interesting feature is the squint logo. The right hand end of the logo seems to be in the right place but the left end seems to be way too high (actually ending up under the strings!). [attachment=8581:p_head.JPG] Has anyone seen this before on a Fender where the factory logo is miss-fitted? Looks like a friday afternoon job to me! Thanks Andy
wateroftyne
Hello! Yep.. logo placement was erratic all the way through's Fender's history, even more so post-74-ish.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
The logo was probably applied by the same person that did Marcus Miller's. His CIJ sig basses also copy the logo placement of his '77 which looks just like that.

Just goes to show how inconsistent Fender were in the 70s!
