diego420 Posted May 10, 2008 Share Posted May 10, 2008 Greetings, I have always wanted to learn the bass, and finally went out and bought a starter piece. Here's my kicker...I don't wanna buy an amp yet, as I have rent due, and don´t plan on gigging anytime soon. I want to use my headphones for practice sessions, but have been told that, regardless of plug size on my cans, I will not be able to use them sans-amp. Can anybody recommend a good cheap pedal that has an output on it, or any other remedy, because I find it silly to spend 80 to 100 dollars just to be able to use my headphones. I thank any and everyone in advance, for any wisdom they can impart. When I get famous, said helper will get a bi-line in my first liner notes. It might seem silly to spend the money but its a very good practice aid as it has rhythm patterns, a tuner and effects etc so it will be much more than a short cut to just hearing your bass. Gamble Posted May 10, 2008 Share Posted May 10, 2008 I used to have a "fly-spec" headphone amp, it was a little bigger than a match box and took a 9v battery (I think). Mr. Foxen Posted May 11, 2008 Share Posted May 11, 2008 Pretty sure awesome tone isn't important, so an amplug would be ok, the is a stethescope type job that sticks to the back of your bass, that would be cool, or score a stethescope thype with and stick it to your bass, that would also be cool. The software has loads of different amp combinations on it and you can also load MP3's into it to jam along too. Another alternative would be the Pocket Rock-it headphone amplifier - built into a box on the end of the jack-plug.
