bassistmike
I bought a used Gary Levenson Bass about 2 years ago, tonight I decided to remove the back plate to spray the pots etc and in the back I discovered A BATTERY when I bought it I did not know it was an active bass, which I assume it is, When I got it I contacted the company and they replied telling me when it was made etc but never mentioned it either, are all levenson guitars active Mike
louisthebass
I've never owned one, but I've played in bands with a couple of guitarists who've had the st**t copies and they've been active.
RhysP
Yes, it's active. I had a Levinson Blade B2 for about 20 years & it was a great bass. What model bass is it? Mine didn't have a passive option so without a battery it wouldn't work. I've also got an old Levinson Blade Texas Standard strat style guitar & that's active too. Stacker
You should see some small trim=pots. One of them helps filter out any nasty hum and works in conjunction with the dummy coil. This site is, for some reason, not letting me upload pix but here's a diagram of Blade settings:- http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/hi-anyone-used-levinson-blade-b4-853538/
rednose200
They all are active as far as I know. Your bass should now sound like the dogs testicles with a new battery in it. These are seriously good basses man
