bassjamm Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Hi, Not sure if this is in the right forum but here goes... I've been browsing the site without any issues this morning up until the past 5-10 minutes or so. Every time I try to load a new page I'm getting a warning saying the site may harm my computer as it appears to contain malware software. Just thought I should let you Moderators know. Thanks Jamie Quote

SteveK Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 No warnings with Firefox. Can anyone confirm if this is a hoax or more serious? Quote

Can anyone confirm if this is a hoax or more serious?
I haven't had the warning at all from the start (FF16). My impression is that it also depends on your antivirus package as well as your browser. And yes, it would be nice to know whether or not there's any truth to this security alert. Musky Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 If you look at the page source you'll find a hidden link to secfbichecker.com, which is serving some kind of script. No idea what it is, but it's likely that which is triggering the alerts. Not good. Quote

Lozz196 Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012
Firefox has the warning now.
Yep, tried about 11ish last night and it was there. Quote
Jacqueslemac Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I had the same warning yesterday, but nothing this morning (I'm on a Mac running Safari). Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Had it last night. I'm on iPhone now, and it seems ok now Quote
paulconnolly Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Had an e-mail exchange with site admin (I wasn't going to risk ignoring the warning and accessing the site). Seems the admins were aware of the issue and spent most of yesterday working to resolve it. Looks like it's sorted now as no warnings anymore. Quote

In which case everyone effected/infected will need to take measures... such as (my preference) reinstalling an older drive image... assuming of course, it's not too late. Any info from those in the know would be appreciated. Quote

paulconnolly Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Seemed to be genuine malware infecting the site. Quote
