Guest bassman7755
but alas they don't so ... anyone got any recommendations for small/light PA subs, active or passive ?. Things I've been looking at include the mackie dlm series and the HZ SB18 (which is the smallest/lightest 18 sub I can find). mcgraham
I thought they had some plans to produce some PA equipment?
LawrenceH
If you want Barefaced, why not the Baby Sub? That's as much a PA sub as it is a bass cab.
Guest bassman7755
I'm sure a suitable tuned compact based design would do the job nicely.
Guest bassman7755
I missed the baby sub ... looks interesting although its giving away a hefty 7db sensitivity compared to the HZ SB18 albeit a lot more compact an lighter.
winterfire666
its worth giving alex an email at barefaced, i know they had some pa stuff in the works.
WinterMute
I'm pretty sure Alex has Hifi on his mind if he has spare time, which he doesn't from the look of it... That man has a lot of work on for a small business.
bertbass
Have you thought of going down the DIY route? Bill's T39s are well worth a look and build. Martin quality at Behringer prices. http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/T39.html

LawrenceH
Given the massive disparity in cost and size between the different options out there, it's pretty useful to know what you actually 'need' in terms of performance! What kind of venues is the sub for?
alexclaber
Yes, it's on the agenda! Think I've sussed out the right balance of LF extension vs LF sensitivity, just waiting on the driver prototype...
Guest bassman7755
Hi alex ... do I get a discount for being the Guinea pig . Am thinking of experimenting with my compact as a dedicated sub - or is that a really dumb thing to do - will putting a kick drum though it rip its guts out ?. I want something that is lighter than 20kg and no bigger than a compact ideally ... Edited November 26, 2012 by bassman7755
subrob
Fohhn have a single 12 sub that weighs in at 19kg. And its active so no heavy amp rack. Theyre major money though. Edited November 26, 2012 by subrob
