stoker
So Berhinger are cheap and nasty as opposed to cheap and cheerful then. Ok, I'll disregard them.
Mog
A lot of Behringer stuff has quality issues so I'd stay away from most of it. Having said that a lot of guys here love the sound of this, http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/BDI21.aspx
BassPimp66
Behringer copy/reinvent classic designs using crap component. Some of the stuff is worth exploring. But, do not expect good components and a solid construction from a GBP 20 pedal. It's all plasticky and made in the far far East.
Doddy
So Berhinger are cheap and nasty as opposed to cheap and cheerful then. Ok, I'll disregard them.
I wouldn't disregard them totally. Some of them are worth trying out,and you may like them. I've got the Behringer Ultra Vibrato (after reading recommendations by Juan Alderete) and it's a great sounding pedal and was under £20. Yes they are made of plastic, but they are not as sh*tty-quality as people often make out/like to think. I've stomped on mine loads as well as dropped it and kicked it (accidentally) and other than a couple of dings,it's fine.
MrTaff
Some of the Behringer stuff is nice, you can get some good dubstep tones from the BSY600 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ingKH3s2JHg and there's plenty of Axe-FX users with the FCB1010 Midi Controller, they certainly think it's good enough to use with a 2k Axe-FX. stoker
I'v heard mixed things about the Harley Benton pedals too.
Doddy
The Harley Benton pedals are just differently branded Joyo pedals (as are Rocktronics). Again, some of the pedals are really good. For example-The Ultimate Drive is an OCD clone and is a great little pedal-especially for £30! Freekish Blues and Toxic pedals used to rehouse and rebrand the it (allegedly) and charge nearly $200 for it. Their pedals are worth checking out. stoker
Joyo? Not come across them.
Doddy
http://www.joyoaudio.com/en/product/fl_26.html The Harley Benton pedals are Joyo rebranded for Thomann. They are basically clones of pedals like Tubescreamer,OCD,Phase 90,Sweet Honey and others.
stoker
Worth looking at then by the sounds of it.
Doddy
Some of them are cool. I've tried a bunch out,but not bought them, and some of them are really nice. The only reason I've not bought a couple is that I don't need anything that they do right now.
LiamPodmore
As Truckstop said, the king of cheap OD pedals (in my opinion) is the Marshall Jackhammer. I picked mine up for £20 posted on ebay. I recommend having a look at the Behringer BDI-21 as well (as others have already said too). I don't use it as a permanent preamp, more of a backup or a different tone for softer songs, but i've found it pretty reliable. Joyo stuff is rock solid kit. I've got the Fuzz/Octave they do and although i can't get a good bass sound out of it myself, it's built like a tank. Liam
Ancient Mariner
The Digitech Bad Monkey is a surprisingly good bass overdrive pedal and dirt cheap, even more so if you can find a used one. Here's one for £25 on eBay, free shipping: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item43b6695f36
Not trying to be cheeky but I'll do my BM for £20 posted. A few minor chips but otherwise good nick - also replaced the rather fragile original battery connector.

But for £15 from here on BC it's great fun
stoker
Choices choices. I don't know where to begin although our guitarist also reccomends a EHX Big Muff.
mike257
A regular Big Muff will make a load of your low end disappear. Bass Big Muffs can be had for as little as £35 second hand and will do a much better job for you. Joyo stuff is ace for the price as mentioned - I'm yet to try them on bass but I've got three of their pedals on my guitar board and gig them regularly with no issues. The solution: This setup (that's how I have it set) will allow it to cut through. Bonus; you can tweak it to get all kinds of different fuzz sounds. I'm setting mine up in an effects loop through a LoopMaster pedal so I can treat the two as if they're a single pedal for switching purposes and not have the MXR EQ affect my clean tone.
