As above.

I'm changing my strings from Pro Steels to flats and wondered if you guys to help.

I love the bright sound of the Pro Steels But want the smooth feel of flats for my fretless.

What are the brightest flats available ?

D'Addario chromes are very zingy and bright for flats and feel great, only prob I had with them was high tension when fitted to a p-bass, changed them on to a peavey bass and the problem went.

Try coated strings maybe? Elixir stainless strings are a hell of a lot smoother than Prosteels, and the sound works for me :)

+1, Elixir nanowebs are ace for fretless.

I find chrome flats have to high tension for my liking.

Elixir could be the way forward, I have tried them before and liked the feel and sound.

I forgot to say the recommendations must be available for six string basses.

TI (Thomastik/Infeld) jazz flats are fairly bright as flats go. They have very low tension, which does not suit everyone.

Here is their site if you wish to check them out.

Thanks for the info.
Ive also tried them before and found them to have to low tension for my liking.
Looks like Elixir might be the solution.

They don't make a .032 gauge string in the stainless steels yet, but hopefully they will soon! You can get them in nickels though which I imagine might still be brighter than most flats :)
