Roland Rock Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 (edited) Might try to point the speakers up and try this at our next gig :-) http://youtube.com/watch?v=3zoTKXXNQIU "Corn starch is a shear thickening non-Newtonian fluid meaning that it becomes more viscous when it is disturbed. When it's hit repeatedly by something like a speaker cone it forms weird tendrils. The video was shot at 30 fps and the speaker cone was vibrating at 30 Hz which is why there is no blur. This is the original video with the actual sound of the speaker." Edited November 26, 2012 by Roland Rock Quote
TheGreek Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Glad I didn't know about this when I used to take acid!!! It would have really freaked me out... Quote
xgsjx Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Tomato ketchup is also a non-Newtonian fluid, but I haven't tried it yet (other than on food). Quote
Skol303 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 I want one! Beats a lava lamp any day. Quote
