December Composition Competition

Oooh... actually the title "dismissed as crap" fits the picture nicely. Now I just need to write a crap song to suit it. Good thing is that's how they all end up

I got some stuff actually started. I'd found a couple of percussion samples that I like & today I came up with an appropriate bassline & guitar part. Got some lyrics in my head, so I "might" try & sing, but I'll probably just add the lyrics as a written piece.
Gonna try & do some more tonight.

Just got back from sommerset so hopefully will have a bash at something in the coming week, not a clue what but i am going to try the speed technique, whack it out as fast as possible and see what happens

Will have to get it done before the world ends on the 21st (or so they say), if not and it all ends and im half finished i will be really pissed off.

Note: not a big fan of Christmas. The way I see it It's more about commercial extortion these days, although `i do appreciate time off work

^ Bonkers! And brilliant! There are some superbly insane moments in that track that I really enjoyed. I felt drunk listening to it, and I've only been on the Yorkshire Tea tonight

^ I [i]really[/i] like this... it's got a catchy b-line and the lyrics had me laughing out loud in places. Now when I look at the photo I see a Santa job interview gone badly wrong! Good work G Your vocal is great, btw.

I'm sure with a few tweaks you could make it sound great.

Mine started off with some drums & a VST bass & chord seqquence that I ended up hating, so plugged in the bass & started jamming to just the drums & found something I liked fairly quickly. So I'm sure you can do better.

Keep at it mate. I've had a listen and what you've done is sketchy at the moment, sure, but there's the bones of song in there that could be finished.

My effort this month is currently all over the shop. I've put the songwriting on hold and have gone for a noisy electronic number, which is actually more akin to my musical roots albeit 'off piste' to what I normally produce for these challenges... Anyway, I've bitten off way more than I can chew in the time available - too late to turn back now, so I've decided to roll up my sleeves and start polishing the proverbial turd!
