Looking to trade for a mesa big block 750 or a Mesa M9. Amps located in west london. Edited December 4, 2012 by Jimelliottbassist
Beedster Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Give it time Jim, it's a truly great amp but one that's very hard to get to know, especially after an M-Pulse
Bassman Steve Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 If it's a new acquisition I'd agree wholeheartedly with Beedster. When I bought my Bass 400 it took me about 6 months to really get to know it and understand it. I stopped using it for a while and went back to the pair of Orange heads I had at the time. Once I had got to know it I haven't ever looked at another gigging amp (in the last 22 years) as every sound you ever wanted is in there. Persist and you'll save yourself a fortune in GAS you don't even need to have.
Jimelliottbassist Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 Looks like i may have to give this monster another go!!! Cheers lads.
andybassdoyle Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Hey Jim, I used to have one years ago. Got rid due to the weight but it was a great amp and I would think it's pretty much perfect for you. Trust the force/mesaboogie.... ABD

[/quote] +1, took me several months to overcome my original impression that it was a bit agricultural and unsophisticated. In fact I thought I'd been sold a dud when I first played it! However, you will not play an amp that provides more clarity and oomph, so stick at it and find your sound Jim. Edited December 3, 2012 by Beedster
Beedster Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Just noticed that I cunningly managed to agree with a post that was itself agreeing with my previous post
Xzantes Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 would you think of selling it? or have you changed your mind now lol =P
Sean Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Jim - keep it! These are the best things in the World, better than mums, motorcycles or London Pride. I'm ashamed I haven't got one when I love them so much.
marcblum Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 don't sell it. Me too, I won't sell my 400+. The only other amp I own ist a Thunderfunk 750.
