Multi switcher foot switch query

Hey all

I got an amp which has a 6-pin foot switch connector for channel switching, EQ bypass, possibly compressor on/off and maybe some other option however I do not have the foot switch.

The Marshall TSL f/s has a similar connector and features 5 buttons. Would that be a viable option to try with my head or do these things tend to be manufacturer specific?

They're often manufacturer-specific, there's no "industry standard" for these things.

But information on how they're wired is often obtainable, either by contacting the manufacturer or by asking here.
