iconic
I've just dug out an old hardrive from a 'defunk-t' PC from years ago, bunged it on my CD drive port and hey presto an afternoon has gone by.... it's full of jazz-funk-fusion songs including this old gem. This is all 'pre-me-trying to-play-bass' so I forgot what a cracking bass is being played over this tune, tight as a camels crack in a sandstorm....by a guy called Chuck Rainey....seems this gent' has played on oodles of the stuff I love...but I've seen any mention of him...sort of passed me by? BetaFunk
Chuck Rainey is a superb bass player. His website is really informative especially when he talks about his time with Steely Dan. Edited January 26, 2013 by BetaFunk
