MoonBassAlpha Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 My fretless Hohner Jack bass came back from an extended stay at my old guitarists house (was going to buy it when he got the money!) with one of the tuners no longer functioning - the thread in the sliding part was partially stripped and would not hold up under tension. The good news is I just managed to repair it with a Helicoil - type insert - there is JUST enough meat on the sliding part to drill tap and place the insert. It seems to work better than ever, a right result, and it only took ~5 minutes. If anyone else needs this doing, I'd be happy to once work has bought some new inserts . The threaded part of the adjuster does need to be intact though, but it is a standard m4 x 0.7 thread. Cheers Jules Quote
