simpleman Posted December 7, 2012 Share Posted December 7, 2012 Hi all, Been a self taught guitarist for 25 plus years and still suck at it. Decided to get a bass for composing my own songs. Decided to take lessons instead of learning bad technique as with the guitar and I just feel stupid for not buying a bass earlier. I absolutely love it and the guitar is just collecting dust I've been playing it and taking lessons for nearly 6 months now. I'm really enjoying it and the missus says "you're so much better on that then the guitar!".....25 wasted years then, lol. I like my rock, heavy rock and a bit of metal. I'm more old school metal to be honest. I have been playing some Foo Fighters, Manic Street Preachers, Faith No More and recently Rage Against the Machine. I've managed to play quite calmly for most songs until I got onto Rage and then I couldn't help myself....so I had to welcome the blisters! I've got an Ibanez Gio and play it through the Roland V-Studio 20 as I record direct onto the computer. Haven't bothered with an amp yet as I'm leaving that to when I decided to play with others. Metal is where its at my friend. Get out and join/form a band It's a world of difference to recording at home. Enjoy the site. Cheers Leen. I did play in a couple of "play for fun not gigging" bands which was great fun and so much better than sat at home like Billy no mates. In one of the bands we did release an album and made it to the rack at HMV! Blimey it was sh*te though. However I will indeed venture out once I feel more confident to destroy other peoples eardrums!
