beerdragon Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 I dont know if this is a good idea or not. i would be scared of it collapsing. a stand made out of lucite that you leave on your guitar. there is supposed to be a bass version coming out. Telebass Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Not on MY bass...way too flimsy. Hercules stands! Big! Heavy! Space-hogging! But Bomb-Proof... Quote
Buzz Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Interesting idea, a bass one would probably have to be slightly larger due to the extra weight. I also wonder what it would do to your straplock screw holes, and if it fits around the different sized nubbins for Dunlop, Schaller etc... Quote
Sarah5string Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Hmmmmm...... not sure about that. Looks a decent idea but also looked flawed. Quote
Telebass Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Nah. Small stands I use at home. Gigs get the big iron, and my experience is that anything less won't protect your instrument. Quote
ahpook Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 wouldn't trust that at all... looks like it was made by ronco 'the perfect christmas gift' Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 It seems to be solution looking for a problem. You'll have all the crud it picks up from the floor rubbing against you. I use this Hercules stand It folds flat & fits in the front pocket of my gigbag and is much steadier than other mini stands I've tried. I always use it with my mustang bass in preference to my big Hercules stands. Quote
Telebass Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Ah, I'd forgotten those - they're really good! AND they're Hercs. Problem solved. Quote

It wouldn't work on Jazzes or Warwick Thumbs or Thunderbirds or various BC Riches or two of my Tsais - it needs a fairly symmetrical and unslanty body to work. So for guitars it'll work on Les Pauls, Strats, Teles, all the Yamahas I can think of, in fact pretty much everything except Flying Vs. Quote
7string Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 +1. A good idea but one for the guitarists only. Quote
