spongebob Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Been looking at this - is it worth picking up? Good insight? Just wondering - is an hour for each album, or with both combined? I'm a massive Rush fan, so am pretty tempted anyway...! Quote
KevB Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) Not seen it but I'm pretty sure that it is an hour in total covering two albums. Maye they couldn't find enough interesting material for each of them individual so turned it into a twofer? Edited December 10, 2012 by KevB Quote
Dingus Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012
Been looking at this - is it worth picking up? Good insight? Just wondering - is an hour for each album, or with both combined? I'm a massive Rush fan, so am pretty tempted anyway...!
Pretty sure I have seen the whole thing on Youtube not so long ago . It's well worth seeing if your a fan ( I am ) , and I think the two albums are amalgamated into one documentary . Have a look on Youtube and make your mind up . It's all there . Quote
mart Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I'm not a massive Rush fan, but I picked this up cheap, and it was worth it. It's mainly a one hour prog covering both LPs. But the DVD I got had a "bonus" of an extra half hour or so of more interviews, again covering both albums. There was nothing earth-shattering, but an entertaining insight into the band nd those albums. Quote
wateroftyne Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 If you're a fan it's worth getting, as is Beyond The Lighted Stage. Quote
Josh Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 (edited)
If you're a fan it's worth getting, as is Beyond The Lighted Stage.
Thanks to Beyond the Lighted Stage I'm now going through quite a hefty Rush phase so it gets a big +1 from me. I've also seen the classic albums DVD too and I found it quite interesting I just can't believe it's taken me so long to actually get into them, instead of only knowing a couple of tracks. jezzaboy Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Well worth it. If you are a fan it`s required watching. Quote
spongebob Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Got 'BTLS' already, so will go for this too...as I am a fan! Should make for an informative Christmas Day afternoon after a few liquid relaxants! Quote
Dingus Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Watched it again on Youtube last night . Still gives me a funny feeling when I see Geddy Lee holding that Rickenbacker . Quote
Conan Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) I think it's a great DVD. Some of the footage is also used on BTLS, but there is a lot of extra stuff on there too. As mentioned previously, the bonus material make the (modest) price of the disc worthwhile. Not as much fun as the "dinner at Saddle Peak Lodge" section though! Oopsdabassist Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) Just watched in on Youtube...excellent stuff, thanks for the heads up guys LMAO Conan that dinner section in BTLS is brilliant, I must have watched it a dozen times! Edited December 11, 2012 by Oopsdabassist Quote
