overwater#1 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) Hi guys, Ok, this is a very reluctant sale. I've not owned the bass long, though have recently had a large need for some funds (read below). This is one of the best fretless basses you can buy. It's previous owner (Ville), will confirm that it beats others, including Fodera, hands down. I'm primarily a bass trombonist, and need some urgent repair work doing on my Edwards bass trombone due to wear and tear. I have worn a hole through one of the outer slide tubes, where the horn is held... too much practice you see.. It's going to be a struggle to pay for the repair/replacement, and my priorities really are with my bass trombone, it's what I study and work primarily as. So, something has to go unfortunately. http://basschat.co.u...eback-fretless/ This is a link to the last for sale thread, from Ville. An absolute legend and top guy, who loved the bass, and will vouch for how incredible it really is. He was kind enough to include a new set of Thomastik strings, which will come with the bass. The bass also has a brand new Thomann hard case. It has the finest pre-amp i've EVER come across. The East U-Retro 5 knob deluxe. It is unbelievably versatile.. Any sound is achievable. Near mint condition. No wear on the fretboard. Works flawlessly, plays effortlessly. Incredible action, perfect fretless tone. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask/PM me. Any interested, please let me know. Shipping will be extra, or collection from Central Manchester/Blackpool area is welcomed. Many thanks all, and very best wishes- Matt Edited February 1, 2013 by overwater#1

overwater#1 Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Hey Papa! Thanks for the post. I'm afraid i'm only selling it to raise funds. Although I have always wanted a Warwick Thumb. I love the Skjold, so would keep it if I didn't need the cash to repair my bass trombone. So, sorry.. Cash Sale Only! Many thanks guys, please pm with any interested! Matt (I still have the box for shipping)
lozbass Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 It's long-scale, fretless, and six so sadly absolutely of no use to me. However, what a stunning instrument at an unbelievable price. I know it's a minority market but I'd be amazed if this hangs around for long. Possibly the biggest bargain currently on these pages
nobodysprefect Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Thanks for the kind words - though 'legend' ... am I already legendary for flipping basses? I have to stop. Aye, this one's a cracking piece of kit, best fretless I've had.
overwater#1 Posted December 13, 2012 Author Posted December 13, 2012 Cheers Loz! Definitely is a bargain.. I could be a cheeky bugger and put it up for more, but this is how much I have in it, when I bought it from Ville. I've had my fair share of bargains on BassChat, so it's only fair Cheers Ville!! Gutted it's up for sale. I must be mad.. It is absolutely incredible!
overwater#1 Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 Bump! Phenomenal, beautiful bass!
ziggydolphinboy Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 nice this is . if only i had the dough!
Oldman Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Matt, good luck with sale, Mrs Blondie would decapitate my hands (did I get that right?) if she caught me even looking....
overwater#1 Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 Hey Brian, thanks! It's absolutely beautiful! Had some time on it yesterday, really is a pleasure to play!! Still here guys! PM me with any interest!
ziggydolphinboy Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 looks beast is it east to play ? is the nrck thin? it looks awesopme .
overwater#1 Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 It really is extremely easy to play!! Fantastic action, perfectly set up, giving great sustain also, but just enough 'mwah' that you'd exect from a quality fretless. It plas effortlessly. It has one of the most comfortable necks i've come across. Nice and thin. A different profile to the Smith, not as 'flat', but very comfortable. The body shape is so comfortable also. It's such a well designed instrument! Very useable, I think the East circuit is by far the most versatile circuit i've used!!
