augh-nuto
Hallo, I ‘m still “unripe” with the bass, I start learning just six months ago as personal pleasure and as an occasion to join my young son who is learning drums. I was permeated with rock music from the 80s, but I appreciate reggae rhythm too. Mick Karn is my top bassist model and I wish to play some of his riffs maybe with a Wal. My gear: - G&L L2000 - Cort Curbow Fretless - Epifani Combo UL 112C - TASCAM MP-BT1 (for practice) Ciao, Augh-nuto, Siena, Italy.

niceguyhomer
Bon giorno Augh-nuto. I was 49 when I started playing bass - you're never too old. I was in Siena about 3 or 4 years ago on a family holiday to Tuscany, what a beautiful place. We got carried away with the atmosphere of the place and had lunch on the square which was very nice apart from the bill - 4 bowls of pasta and 4 bottles of water came to 80 euros. We're hoping to come back soon.

Augh-nuto PS: A suggestion for turists visiting Tuscany: "Explore yourself small places, villages and the country" I can suggest this place that appears wonderful for a concert: http://www.sangalgano.info/abbazia_nav_en.html
BassBomber414
I was offered Bassman slot in a new band at 52. Never picked up a bass before. The drummer is in his sixties and was a session drummer in the 1960's ! Admittedly ,the guitarist is just a fuzz nutted kid ,but will be a grandfather in June. Feel any better ?
