Holla folks,

Does anyone know who the bass player on Al Wilson's The Snake was? I'm suspecting Joe Osborn as the Wrecking Crew were the most likely session band, but have heard that it might be a Jamerson line, but I don't think it is. Any ideas?

Also, anyone got a transcription they would care to share?

Can't answer the question, but great song, I've a 7" somewhere

Never worked the line out, but that's a good idea for when I've time

Don't know about this version, but years ago a band i was in did the Fast Freddies Fingertips version. Sounds similar though. Wasn't too dificult i seem to remember, just keep up with the semitone key changes.

Yep, as mep says. Not a difficult track but plenty of semitone key changes to keep you on your toes. I haven't gigged it in a while but I played around with the r-5-7 notes to play something that carried well.

We play it and it always goes down a storm, (along with a few other Northern Soul classics). If I find a few mins i'll try and transcribe it, but there isn't that much to it.
