chris_b Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I love Travis Carlton's economical playing style. My new favourite band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKhZcPU3r_Y Quote
Badass Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) Have you seen him with Robben Ford? Some great playing by Travis on there, along with great groove. EDIT: Ah yeah that's the Robben Ford band with Travis's dad, Larry on 6 string. My bad, just watching now... Edited December 21, 2012 by Badass Quote
urb Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) The guy is super groovy - and he can play great solos too without resorting to obvious chops - I saw him with Scott Henderson at Ronnie Scott's and he was so deep in the pocket he really held the gig together - very musical and solid too - plus he has a couple of great pedals... which is all in this clip in his wicked solo at the end. And as a man I know said... never trust a skinny bass player... Edited December 21, 2012 by urb Quote
StephenYork Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Sorry to resurrect a thread. I was wandering around the land of Youtube for gigs to watch, I thought I would chance listening to Larry Carlton for an hour. My word Travis can play! If you've got an hour to kill take a look, great sound and feel from the trio. Badass Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Watching now, thanks. I love the easy style of Travis Carlton. Quote
risingson Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 He's been on my radar for a while now. A phenomenal bass player, a great feel for the instrument. Quote
