Bradley Wiggins - John Entwistle basses

Tiny bit of trivia, but was listening back to Radio 5 this evening and they played back an interview with mod-of-the-moment, Bradley Wiggins.

I knew he was a bit of a guitar nut, but it was interesting to hear him say he owned a couple of John Entwistle's basses. Probably no surprise, given his love of the music, but always very cool to see someone else picking up the bass.

I wonder which ones he has. Anyone know?

News to me. Saw the recent documentry and he had a 6 string behind him in his garden room when being imterviewed. Hope we get to find out. Entwistle had quite a collection.

I met him once or twice at parties and have a giod friend who was his team mate for several years. It's no surprise; he's a collector. Guitars, beers, anything that appears to be a culrural artefact.

He was saying he has c.50 guitars, which is quite a collection - alongside his scooters, and other bits and pieces!

If you do an image search for "Bradley Wiggins Entistle bass" there is an interesting picture comparing the two, for some reason I can't post it here. Can't find a picture of the bass though.

The thing with Entwistle's bass collection is that he never really seemed to use the best basses he had. The Modulus, the Warwick Thumbs, some of the Alembics other than the Spider basses...

His 'bass collection' book is a great tome to own.
