Marcus on 'The Nightfly' is great. Anthony Jackson on 'Slip,Sliding Away' and 'For the Love of Money' is fantastic. Jaco on 'A Remark You Made' is beautiful. Jamerson on 'What's Going On' and 'Bernadette' is great. Bob Babbitt on 'Midnight Train to Georgia'.Pino on 'Chicken Grease' is too funky. Larry Graham on 'Hair' and 'Everyday People'.Bryan Beller on 'Why Am I Your Guy?' is crazy. Scott Thunes on 'Valley Girl'. Les Claypool on 'Tommy The Cat'. Me'Shell on 'If That's Your Boyfriend'. [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAc5JCKfgZ0[/media] One of my favourite songs of all times so it's no surprise I like the bassline, but I think it's really creative. Fitting a good bassline around 2 guitars, keyboards, strings, vocals and a very busy drum part can't be easy, but I love the way the bass meanders around everything. Rats - Pearl Jam....great main riff and outro, but also love the cool groove going on behind the solo. Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder....obviously the horn/bass unison section, but love the restraint shown during the choruses until the last chorus where Nate Watts lets rip. So Lonely - The Police....simplicity personified and a tasteful key change is never a bad thing in my books. Lounge Act - Nirvana....the reason I picked up a bass in the first place. Some nice things going on in the chorus too. Quote
