yorks5stringer
Good price on these but not sure I buy the explanation. [/quote] These were announced in September with the blurb the UK importer wanted people who had bought one and painted it to then post pics on the importers facebook and twitter. Just noticed that it says all that in the ebay listing. It seems that they didn't get enough budding artists to take them up on their original offer. Can't complain though for £149 delivered. mart
Are they really that cheap though? Thomann seem to be offering new ones for £156, including the pickguard! Still, if you want a bass to finish yourself, then this probably is an ideal thing to start from.

stingrayPete1977
I love Flea and Stingrays ( I know its not a Stingray but hey we are not stupid!) but I would rather have a Squier of some sort than a Flea bass any day of the week
SlapbassSteve
Didn't they used to charge over £400 for these? At the time I loved what Flea was trying to do but they weren't nearly as cheap as the company made them out to be, a new original fleabass wasn't a whole lot cheaper then a Mex Fender at the time. If they'd been this cheap from the get-go they might not have had to stop making them... For the money I would have at least wanted an active preamp.
