Internal Pre-amp (ebay?)

There's a pre-amp on ebay for about £15...

A guy on youtube showed a demo of them on a cheaper bass, and was wondering if it would be worth the investment?

The electronics packed up on my 6-string fretless; I bought a cheap preamp kit from 'tbay (don't know if it's the same one, but in the same price range...), and it's fine. Maybe not up to scratch for purists, or cork-sniffers, but I'm not able to fault it (...but then again, I'm a drummer; what would I know..?).
