Fender Jazz P/J parts build

Here's a little Fender build I've started. Picked up a beaten old 80's MIJ body from basschat's very own Ash. Got a Gotoh 201 bridge incoming, along with a RI '62 3-hole control plate. There is a P bass pickup route under that scratchplate, so I'm gonna make the most out of it and get a Wizard Big P/J set in there. The neck bold on is currently my old MIM Jazz neck, but I'm planning on replacing it with an Road Worn Jazz neck very soon!



The body's on the heavy side...alder I think. Really impressive sustain; notes seem to last forever! The finish is interesting in that it seems to either have a black undercoat, or started life as a black bass being getting an antique white respray at the factory...perhaps due to a painting error.

Thank you! She sounds awesome too after chucking in a Wizard P/J Big combo and a Gotoh 201! Just gotta get a custom scratchplate made and wait for a nice Jazz neck to pop up on eBay and she's done!



*NOTE: I ordered the P/J pickups yesterday afternoon from Andy and they arrived in under 24hr!*
