Neck is totally straight :)

The colour is ivory. I have the exact same bass. BTW, are you sure that the pickguard is original. If I'm correct there should be a screw just below the 'g' string about mid-way between the screw at the neckpocket and the pickup. I may of course be wrong and am happy to be corrected. Good luck with the sale.

Its original. Screw is between A and D string. Correction position.
100% original :) Foto isnt perfectly straight :)

Screw is in the same position like here, http://media.soundonsound.com/sos/jun10/images/Phil_01.jpg

Thanks.

I don't think that you have quite understood my description of where the screw should be. Here is an illustration to accompany the description.

As Hutton suggests the pickguard is a replacement - Black & Molinaro's book confirms.

Interesting bass this one

I was offered this for by the ebay seller who is near to me in Maldon, Essex - he was reluctant to ship it to poland - obviously it did go to poland and here it is :)

Yeah, but neck on this bass is not for me.
I was thinking this pickguard is a original. I must ask pervious owner, thanks guys. Look the same, fit perfectly :)

At the risk of repeating myself, and with great respect, the pickguard is not original. Gareth kindly has confirmed this. As you will appreciate it doesn't "look the same" as it is missing a screwhole. Also, "fitting perfectly" unfortunately does not guarantee originality. Perhaps you will have more luck with a sale if you amend your asking price to get back what you paid for the bass a couple of weeks ago. Good luck!

Neck is not for me, but bass is worth much more than this 700 pounds. So, my price is what it is.
No rush at my side :) Its a great bass.

But one moment, here http://www.normansra...bass-white.html is the same in this screw holes thing ;)

Hello all, I've got one just like the Maple necked one at Normans, but like some suggest here, there is an additional screw in the center of the (all white single ply) pick guard on mine like on Huttons photo. However, these are fantastic basses, and if I didnt have mine, and I'd seen that one on ebay I would have paid £700 for it, so lets just see if this goes for what its advertised for, if its anything like mine its a keeper.
ps. Is this one a wide 45mm width nut like mine, I find it easier to play like that, but some prefer the standard 43 mm ones ?

Personally I would hang onto it. 1983 P basses are rather clunkily made, but are probably on the cusp of becoming desirable/collectable.

You may well realise your value in a one or two year's time.

Best wishes
That explains my confusion. Didn't notice eBay had ended.

It'll be a nice profit then

Not sure what you mean here. If you mean that they are well put together and that quality was once again being sought after in the Fullerton factory, and also that these basses play superbly well due to the construction of the bass, then I agree that they are 'clunkily' made. If you mean something else then I'm at a loss to understand. I may not be an expert in Fender basses of this era but if my two are anything to go by then I'm very happy indeed to possess two clunky basses.

Guys? wake up? This topic is not about Fender 1983 era.
Interested in trades too.

No, the topic has become about how gentlemanly Basschat is. On some other forums you would have been verbally ripped to pieces.
With respect, you are showing a distinct lack of respect to Basschat members by putting £325 on the asking price of a bass you bought 2 weeks ago.
Good luck with your sale.
Karl.

Hey, thats my price, mine bass? I think I can take a one milion dollars, and I have all right to do that, couse it mine. This bass for me is worth this money, and thats it. If someone want this Fender for this price, he can buy it. If not, not. Thats so easy. This bass is to good to leave for 700 pounds, imo.
Thats my price, end of story. Great sounding pbass from 1983 for me is worth this money.

Price is now little lower. Thanks for reaction about this pickguard I didnt notice.
Oh, and sorry about my sh*tty English ;)

Happy new year!
