I use one of these as my main gigging "take anywhere, do anything bass", in studio and on stage, without buying something you'd be too scared to take out of the house to gig, they are the most versatile bass you could [i][b]ever [/b][/i]wish for. The pickup combination and preamp provides anything from dark bassy heavy rock, mellow jazz, sharp attacking slap and the funkiest funk you could wish for, from precision to jazz to Musicman (yeah, I know a bunch of 'ray fans will be up in arms at that, but they are simply jealous IMHO, as they cannot do anything other than 'ray sounds!!!) I use exclusively Elixir medium gauge extra longs, and the B string rings out, has soooo much sustain and balances so well with the rest. See its fretless pair in my avatar...
